"Esprit Orchestra works vigorously to introduce young and old alike to the orchestra's music-making with the aim of improving public knowledge and expanding Esprit's educational programming and audience base. Our education program, Toward A Living Art, is one of the most important things the orchestra does and is an accomplishment of which I'm especially proud. Most of the young people who hear Esprit in concert are hearing Canada's contemporary classical music for the first time! For a child to discover how music moves from the imagination of the composer to the ears and minds of performers and audiences and how, once performed, this becomes part of the living musical fabric of Canada and the world is of vital importance to a child's development and capacity to truly appreciate musical expression. If you are a student, we sincerely hope to be seeing you at one of Esprit's exciting educational events this season! And, if you are an educator, we urge you to give your students the gift of Esprit's music-making this season!"
