Volunteer Your Time

Volunteer with Esprit and learn about performing arts and contemporary classical orchestral music. Our volunteer program enables you to work behind the scenes, meet artists, composers and arts management professionals. This is a great opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue a career in the performing arts field as you will learn about operating an orchestra, how performances are produced, and about life as a musician, composer, conductor or performing arts manager.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Administrative

Working along-side the administrative team, volunteers have an opportunity to learn about running an orchestra. Duties include helping with season launch campaigns, mid-season mailings, data base maintenance and marketing projects.

Concerts / Festival

Volunteers help on concert nights (7 – 10 pm) by assisting subscribers and patrons with information and answering their questions, working media and subscriber’s table, selling CD’s, distributing brochures and enjoying great music. Volunteers may also assist in the production of the annual New Wave Festival for emerging composers held each spring in an alternative, non-traditional venue.

Fundraising Events

Volunteers assist the Board of Governors and Administrative team with the annual fundraising gala events, assisting with ticket distribution, mailings, set-ups and strikes, and auctions.

Student Education and Outreach

Volunteers who are trained to work with children participate in the education and outreach programs within the Toronto school system, where composers and students work together to explore the art of composition.
