New Wave Composers Festival
Showcasing emerging, rising star composers.
In 2001/02, Esprit produced Canada's first-ever New Wave Composers Festival. This well-attended two-day event served as an important event helping launch the careers for 14 rising-star Canadian composers.
The festival is a forum for young, emerging artists to exchange ideas, meet the public, participate in seminars and panel discussions, and plan for participation in future Esprit events. Many of these rising star composers, never having previously met one another, make the festival a rendezvous point that creates an important sense of cohesion for this new generation of composers.
